Stainless steel set screws

The manufacturing standards of set screws are divided into four common series: GB77/GB78/GB79 and GB80. If described according to the German standard, it is divided into four specifications: DIN916/DIN615/DIN914/DIN913. According to different standards, the set screws will be slightly different. Take GB77 for example, this standard means that the tail of the set screw is flat, while GB78 means that the tail of the screw is pointed, which corresponds to it. The national standard GB79 means that the tail of the set screw has a cylinder, and GB80 is our most common product with a concave end at the tail. As for the material, basically there are more SUS304 stainless steel set screws, while SUS316 stainless steel set screws will be less.

Stainless steel set screws are used for many purposes. This headless series of set screws are used in furniture installation, equipment positioning, and mold assembly. Of course, the four mentioned here are just conventional products. The standards listed at the end of the article basically include all the set screw series, but some are not used very much, so they will not be introduced in detail. Let's first take a look at the pictures of these four commonly used set screws.

Looking at the picture above, the end of the screw is very flat and flat, which is obviously different from other products. This flat end fastener belongs to a relatively precise small screw series. According to our experience in the industry for so many years, this stainless steel flat end fastener is analyzed. It is more often used in sophisticated instruments. Let's look at another tip set screw:

The comparison of these two pictures will make it clear. The national standard of this sharp-pointed set screw is represented by GB78, and the corresponding German standard is DIN914. This kind of sharp-pointed set screw is mostly used on equipment. The function of positioning or positioning is very accurate. Let's look at what is the column end tightening:

Do you think the fastener industry is so complicated? Just a few of the same type of set screws, there are so many different standards. The difference between this column end set screw and the above two set screws is more obvious, except that the inner hexagon at one end is the same, and the tail part has an extra cylinder. The cost of this column end set screw is higher than that of other sets of screws. The set screw is higher, so its price is the highest among several set screws, because after it is cold-headed, the cylinder at the rear has to be turned and added again. The production cost this time is other More than double the product. Finally, let’s take a look at the most commonly used set screws with recessed ends:

Look at the picture to understand the difference, yes, it's that simple, it's just that the tail is a bit recessed. The following is the standard of all set screws, some are not commonly used, so I won’t put the picture to explain in detail. It is possible that users will not use or come into contact with these standards for a long time. Basically, the four hexagon socket set screws described above contain a large range of applications.
